One goal of the Student Award Center is to give parents like you the opportunity to choose the school that is the best fit for your child and your family. We are the only tuition assistance program in West, TN that offers scholarships for K-12 students to attend private schools.

We are a small organization with a big heart. Every year, we receive hundreds of applications for new scholarships and we do everything we can to meet the needs of every eligible family who applies.

Our application process is simple and we encourage everyone who is eligible to submit their application as quickly as possible.

Choosing your school:

You may already have a school in mind, but we know for many people choosing a school can be difficult. There are so many more choices for education than there used to be. There are a few things you’ll want to consider when weighing your options.

How do I know if a school is “good”?

There is not a school that is going to be “good” for every student or family. That’s why it’s so important for families and their students to do their research on each school they are interested in. Only you can determine if a school is “good” for you and your child. Our SAC School Guide is a great place to start! Once you have a list of the schools you prefer, we encourage you to tour those campuses with your child to find the very best fit for your family.

What are the needs of my child?

Does your child have any specific needs that pertain to their ability to learn? Make sure whatever school you are researching has resources available for them to succeed.

Do you research.

Just when you think you’ve learned everything there is to know about a school, there is more you can learn. Reach out to parents you know in that school system and get their first-hand experience.

Compare and tour the schools.

Touring the campus is a very important part of choosing a school. You want to make sure you and your child feel comfortable there. You can see how the day-to-day life of the school functions, how the teachers interact with their students, and ask all of the questions you have directly.

Securing your spot at your choice school.

It’s important to have an understanding about your choice school’s enrollment process. This way you do not miss your opportunity to secure a spot for your child.
